Privacy Policy

1. Overview

MyCheckRegister.Online ("we," "us," "the app") is a free personal finance app that helps you track your checking accounts, budget, savings, debts, and spending. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. What data we collect

• Account data: Your email address and name, collected when you create an account so you can sign in and we can keep your data private to you.
• Financial data you enter: Account names, bank or card issuer names, the last four digits of account or card numbers (never full numbers), balances, transactions, budgets, transfers, and notes you add.
• Statement files you upload: When you choose to upload a bank, credit card, or loan statement (PDF or image), that file is stored in private, access-controlled storage tied to your account. It is never made public.
• AI-generated reports: If you generate a quarterly financial report, the app summarizes your data into a report stored under your account.

3. How we use your data

• To display your budget, ledger, balances, and reports back to you.
• To extract summary information (balance, minimum payment, due date, APR) from statements you upload, so you don't have to type it manually. The full contents of your statement are not stored — only the summary fields you see in the app.
• To generate optional AI financial insights and reports from your data.
• To operate, maintain, and secure the service.

4. How your data is processed by AI

When you use statement extraction or AI financial insights, your data and uploaded files are sent to a third-party AI language model for processing. Only the data needed for the specific feature is sent. We do not use your data to train AI models.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers managed by our platform provider. Each user's data is isolated so that only you can see your own accounts, transactions, and files. Data is encrypted in transit. Access to your data requires your authenticated session.

6. What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your full bank account or credit card numbers — only the last four digits, which you enter yourself.
• We do not access your device contacts, location, camera roll, SMS, or phone state.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not show ads.

7. Data sharing

We do not share your data with third parties except: (a) the AI provider that processes statement extractions and financial insights as described above, and (b) our cloud hosting platform that stores your data. We share only what is necessary to provide the feature you requested.

8. Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app's Profile page — this removes your accounts, transactions, budgets, statements, reports, and your user record.

9. Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time through the app, or by contacting us at sean@photrove.com.

We may update this policy; we'll note the date above when we do.
